Smokeless cigarettes seem to be catching on in the Usa. Yet, the Food and drug administration is attempting to ban the sale of any flavored smokeless cigarettes, in an attempt to curb the appeal of their product to kids. Many states are using the lack of support by the FDA to start stopping the sale of the smokeless cigarettes. I really think that they are doing people a disfavor. There can be many benefits to the e-cigarette. The ecigarette looks, feels, and works very similar to a regular tobacco cigarette in that it produces nicotine, the tip lights up when smoked, and the user should exhale a vapor substance. Through out this article I will be exploring the advantages of the e-cig and why they may be the better alternative to tobacco smoking.
How is an Electronic cigarette different than a Tobacco Cigarette?
1. An e-cigarette does not emit noxious smoke. The user exhales water vapor instead of chemicals. This makes the e-cig more eco-friendly and acceptable in most dining establishments, bars, airplanes, etc. because the water vapor does not affect the health of those persons directly in contact with it.
2. The cigarette itself is intended to be reusable. Reduces landfill waste, roadside garbage, and cleans up the road. No more cigarette butts scattered across your neighbors grass or in the parking lot of your favorite restaurant.
3. The cigarette utilizes an atomizer to send the nicotine rather than direct inhalation. The capsule of fluid must pass through the atomizer to allow for the nicotine to be delivered to the consumer.
4. Reduced amounts of tar in the lungs. E-Cigarettes can greatly reduce the amount of tar and other harmful chemicals.
How does it work?
There are several different portions that go into making an e-cig. The initial piece is the led light at the end of the cigarette that lights up each time the individual takes a drag. This helps signify to the user that they are in fact drawing nicotine from the cigarette.
Then there is the long white piece of the cigarette which would normally be where all of the tobacco in a ordinary cigarette is stored. This portion of the e-cig is used mainly for aesthetics and serves the purpose of making the cigarette easier to grasp. At the end of this white piece of the cigarette is the battery and "brains" of the ecigarette.
A battery and computer chip that controls the delivery of the nicotine and water in the container. The battery has a significant life but like anything else, the battery has to be changed out for a fresh battery fairly often for devoted smokers. A pressure sensor in the device tells the atomizer to discharge the water and nicotine when the person sucks or draws are flow over the sensor.
The atomizer is a heated wire that creates a vapor from the nicotine solution so that it can be readily inhaled by the consumer. The person inhales the vapor and the by product is water vapor.
Of course like most cigarette the mouthpiece part of the e-cig is piece that the consumer sucks on the ecig to create the reaction in the atomizer. Unlike regular tobacco cigarettes, the electronic cigarette requires more of a sucking action because of the pressure sensor, so it is a little unlike.
What are the advantages of using an e-cig?
1. E-Cigarettes cost much less than traditional cigarettes and can save the consumer a lot of money. based on how often the individual smokes some estimates are in the 1000's of dollars every year.
2. E-Cigarettes do not expose others to destructive chemicals. The bi-product of the ecig is water vapor.
3. No awful odor or smell. No longer have to smell like smoke or wash your clothes many times to get the smoke out of them. For those people that smoke at home, no smoke filled rooms and irritating your spouse.
4. They come in numerous flavors so the person can smoke his/her desired flavor.
5. No smoking bans in dining places, pubs, clubs, airports, etc. E-Cigarettes are permissible to use in any public environment.
Brand names of Smokeless cigarettes
There are millions well-liked makes of e-cigarettes. Prado, Volcano, Greensmoke, Eluma, Njoy, BLU, ePuffer, and the list goes on. The internet market for smokeless cigarettes has grown in the recent past and there are a huge number e-cig sites. The cost ranges from around $50 to approximately $150 depending on the brand and packages.
What are the nicotine levels?
e-cigarettes discharge about the same amount of nicotine per hit as a ordinary cigarette but the container inside of the e-cigarette has a significant amount more nicotine than a normal cigarette. The approximate estimates are that an ecigarette container is about the equivalent of 6-7 tobacco cigarettes and can last for about a hundred hits as opposed to about 15 hits on a normal cigarette.

E-Cigarettes have about 20 components compared to the almost 4000 ingredients in normal cigarettes including ammonia, carbon monoxide, tar, rat poison, hydrogen cyanide, embalming fluid, and acetone to name a few.
